Books for Researchers, Practitioners, and Students

  • Testing Accommodations for Students with Disabilities (2015)

My first book, a collaboration with Dr. Larry Lewandowski, reviews the scientific research literature on testing accommodations, to develop a framework for decision making. We also discuss issues of universal design in testing, as well as the relationship between accommodations and intervention.

  • Overcoming Test Anxiety (2025)

My latest book, co-authored with therapist Dr. Alex Jordan, offers evidence-based strategies for students who deal with serious test anxiety. The book is written for mental health and school professionals, but students, parents, and others will benefit from it as well.

  • Practical Psychometrics (2023)

This is a brief, friendly introduction to psychometrics (the science behind psychological and educational testing). My goal was to write a primer for graduate students and professionals (school psychologists, educators, counselors, etc.) who use diagnostic tests and need to know to select tests and interpret scores properly.

  • History of Psychology (2022)

I collaborated with Professor David Hothersall (emeritus at The Ohio State University) on the latest edition of this textbook, a biographical approach to psychology’s pioneers.
